Have you got the blahs?
Some days, when you get up you just feel kind of bleh. You just don’t really feel like doing anything. When you were young….those were the kind of days you wanted Mom to call the school for you and tell them that a rhino crashed the door late last night and in all the excitement you fell and the rhino stepped on your right foot. You were too crippled to make it into the doctor’s office so would they put you down for an excused absence? You would try to get into see the Doc later today…or maybe tomorrow.
Mom’s had this thing about going to school though…at least mind did. So…unless the rhino even actually happened, I just went ahead and got up. There were a few times I just couldn’t quite make it to school, but those days were rare. It seemed I could never get away with it…I’d always get caught. Still, I’d give it a shot every now and again, when I figured they had probably forgotten about it.
Now that time has moved on….and we’re living, working and getting along on our own…do you still get those days every once in a while? Do you call in sick? Have you ever wondered where those days come from? If you knew why, could you fix it?
I believe there are multitudes of reasons as to why this can happen. My favorite way to figure out something is to just ask ‘Why’. Why do I feel this way? Ask the question and then answer it. Then ask…why does this affect anything? You keep the question and answer thing going long enough and you’ll pretty much figure out most anything. You just need to remember to ask the right questions.
Be aware of where you are…it makes it a lot easier to figure out where you’re going…and how to get there.
